ASHLAND, Wis. – After trialing 0-4 in the second half the Northland College Men's Soccer team rallied back with three goals in the final 15 minutes but fell 5-3 to North Central University in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Wednesday evening in Ashland, Wis.
 
The LumberJacks were held quiet in the opening half, not recording a shot. The Rams got on the board in the 12th minute from a free-kick goal from Alvin Wlejleh. Wlejleh was not done there, scoring two more goals before halftime. Northland had a great opportunity with Deshaun Williams sending a threw ball to Avery Zenger but was unable to get a shot off.
 
Five minutes into the second half Wlejleh increased the lead to four for the Rams. Keenan Bayer had the first shot for the Jacks but went out wide. Williams got the Jacks on the board with Chris Gomez assisting on the goal. Three minutes later Northland had a free kick right outside of the penalty box and Gomez buried the shot to cut the lead to two. Shortly after Another free kick had the Jacks just outside the box again and Gomez found the side netting for his second goal of the game. Northland only down one was throwing evening at the goal but the Rams countered and Wlejleh scored for the fifth time to end the game 5-3.
 
After not recording a shot in the first half Northland tallied 10 with five on target in the second half. Gomez ended the game with four shots on goal, two goals, and one assist. Williams had one shot on target that found the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Rodrigo Chavez made four saves in the loss.
 
The Jacks are on the road for their next game on Saturday when they travel to the University of Minnesota Morris for a 1 p.m., kick off.
