Oles down LumberJacks on the road

Northland drop game to MIAC opponent

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Northland College Men's Hockey team fell on the road to St. Olaf College 10-0 Saturday evening in Northfield, Minn.
 
The Jacks trailed after the 11-minute mark and were unable to find the back of the net. In the second period, the Jacks had a five-minute major and the Oles took advantage, scoring three more goals to end their senior night 10-0.
 
St. Olaf out shot Northland 46-to-22. Eric Honlad led the Jacks in shots recording four. Behind him were Ben Stewart, Brendan Charlton and Bryson Cecconi all with three. NC had 10 shots in the second period, the most of the game.
 
Viktor Wennberg started in net and made 30 saves. With three minutes left in the second, Mitch Taylor took over where he turned away all six shots he saw. The Northland defense blocked 15 shots, Honold, Stewart and Andrew Liwiski recorded two in the loss.
 
The Jacks return to the ice on Jan. 16 when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Stout for a two-game series.
