ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Soccer team earned its first victory of the season after a monster 7-0 win over Maranatha Baptist University, Friday night at the Ponzio Stadium, in Ashland, Wis. The Jacks were led by sophomore
Harrison Tibbetts who netted two goals on the night.

Northland was hot from the start with their first shot coming in the sixth minute and the first on goal came three minutes later. Sophomore
Quinn Bieber broke open the floodgates with the first Jacks' goal in the 28
th minute. Three minutes later Northland doubled its lead with a
Nolan Melek goal assisted by
Kelan Cattaway. Garett Sutton joined the scoring party in the next two minutes and Tibbetts gave Northland its fourth in the next minute. A goal in the last two minutes of play wrapped up the scoring in the first after
Salvador Villalobos found the net for the fifth time for the Jacks in the first 45 minutes.

The Jacks picked up right where they left they left off with a goal in the first three minutes with
Julian Swensen making it 6-0. Tibbetts wrapped up the scoring with the final goal of the game in the 49
th minute after Swensen set him up. Being up big 27 Jacks saw the field in the big victory and 16 got a shot off.

The Jacks had possession for 63 percent of the game and when they had the ball most of the time it was in MBU's half. Northland had 30 shots in the game with 18 being on target. The Sabercats were only in the attacking third for four percent of the game and the Northland defense held them to only one shot.

Tibbets had a night with seven shots, five on goal, and two found the back of the net.
Kellen Richardson was right behind him with four shots and three of them were saved. Six different student-athletes made their way to the scorer's sheet and five others assisted those goals.

The Jacks continue their homestand on Sunday as they welcome Hamline University for a 1 p.m., game at the Ponzio Stadium. Â Â
