Yellowjackets jump past LumberJacks in the second half

Northland falls 6-2 to UW-Superior

ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Men's Soccer team fell 6-2 to University of Wisconsin-Superior in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Wednesday night in Ashland, Wis. Harrison Tibbetts continued his run as UMAC leading scorer adding his 12th goal of the season.  
 
The Jacks had a strong first half after allowing an early goal in the first half. With eight men out of the lineup Northland due to injury, the Jacks held the Yellowjackets to only one goal in the first half. In the 20th minute, Tibbetts scored the Jacks' first goal assisted by Victor Vancauteren. Entering the half Jamie Colvill kept the game close with seven saves.
 
The second half started similar to the first with an early goal by UWS. The Yellowjacket continued off that momentum adding three more goals in the next 15 minutes.  The Jacks got one back in the 76th minute with Keagan Culbertson converting from the spot. UW-Superior scored the game's final goal with two minutes left on the clock.
 
The LumberJacks recorded five shots in the loss with four being on frame. Tibbetts and Culbertson both found the net this season, it was Tibbetts' 12th of the season and Culbertson's first. Diego Castaneda and Garrett Sutton both tested the keeper with shots on goal. Also recording a shot in the match was Ezra Walk. In goal, Colvill recorded eight saves.
 
The Jacks will be back at Ponzio Stadium on Saturday at 2 p.m., as they host Bethany Lutheran College.
