Northland unsuccessful at UW-Stout

LumberJills drop last game before conference play

MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team were defeated 16-95 by the University of Wisconsin-Stout Tuesday night in Menomonie, Wis. This was the LumberJills last nonconference game with Upper Midwest Athletic Conference starting at the end of the week.
 
After a two-week hiatus, Northland met with the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season runners-up in the Blue Devils. 
 
Katelyn Altaha and Madison Mendoza led the scoring for Northland with six points. Topping off the scoring was Tara Sandoval with four points. Altaha tallied two assists, both in the first half.
 
After only three rebounds in the first two quarters the Jill snagged 11 boards in the second half. Sandoval paced the team with four, one offensive and three denfensive. Behind her was Altaha with three. Altaha had six steals a game-high. The LumberJills send two shots back with Jojo Lowmaster and Sandoval each recording a block.
 
The LumberJills start UMAC play on Friday as they host the University of Minnesota, Morris at 5:30 p.m., at the Kendrigan Center.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
