ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Hockey team will travel to Blaine, Minn., to compete in its last game of the calendar year against Bethel University in nonconference play Tuesday night. The puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m., at the National Sports Center.

The Royals 4-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Last week, BU had a home-and-away series with the College of Saint Benedict. The series started with a scoreless draw with the Bennies earning an extra point in the shootout. The Royals came back and won game two 3-2. Senior Lindsey Albers leads the team in points and goals with six and three respectively. Junior Anna Hanson has started all eight games in net making 262 saves with one shutout.
The Jills are coming off a 2-0 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. This is the first game where the Jills were unable to get on the board despite having their third-most shots in a game this season. Freshman
Audrey Ellerington led the team in shots with six. In net, freshman
Karlee Lehner made 33 saves.
In her first collegiate season, Ellerington has paced the LumberJills with nine points and six goals. Not even half way through the season she has the most goals since the 2019-20 season when Karadyn Kiviaho had nine. Freshman
Hannah Baumann is behind her with seven points on three goals and four assists. Rounding out the top three is sophomore
Kyleigh Moffatt with six points from one goal and five assists. Her five assists all came against Concordia College in the 5-3 win.
The Northland defense has been doing the dirty work to lead the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in blocks at 162, 13.5 per game. The Jills take up three of the top four spots for individual blocks.
Daphne Gray is in second with 20.
Nevaeh Trihey and
Kiley Sims follow behind her with 17 and 16 blocks respectively. In net, Lehner has made 249 saves in her seven games played to have a save percentage of .933.
