MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Northland College Men's Hockey team dropped its first road game of the season 6-2 to Concordia College Friday night in Moorhead, Minn. In his first season with the LumberJacks
Camille Marcoux has as many goals as games played adding to his total, with a third goal.
The Cobbers started the scoring early with a goal in the first three minutes then doubled their lead two minutes later. Concordia added a third goal before 10 minutes were played. The scoring died down for the rest of the period. The offense could not string much together in the first 20 minutes only recording one shot, coming from
Sam Holy. The second period started similarly to the first with another quick goal for CC. With the Jacks' third shot of the game, Marcoux landed Northland on the board. Five minutes later
Logan Gallagher scored on the power play cutting the lead to two. Northland was help quiet for the rest of the period and the Cobber added two more ending the period 6-2. The final period was scoreless with the Jacks holding Concordia to only nine shots.
Ben Stewart and
Eric Honold led Northland with three shots in the game. Marcoux was behind the pair with two. Assisting on the goals were Stewart,
Andrew Liwiski,
Bryson Cecconi and
Zach Briskey.
Kenny Styles led the team with faceoff wins going 7-for-13. Victor Wennberg started in goal and recorded 16 saves. In the second period,
Andrew Yocum entered and made 19.
The Jacks continue their road trip as they travel to Collegeville, Minn., as they take on Saint John's University at 2 p.m., on Saturday.
