Jills Collect a Point in Draw with Morris

MORRIS, Minn.--- The Northland College Women's Soccer team continued UMAC conference play this afternoon as they traveled to Morris, MN for a matchup against the University of Minnesota Morris. After 90 minutes of play, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw.

Early in this one, Morris would come out of the gates flying, firing 7 shots on goal in the opening 15 minutes. Goalie, Elysabeth Lough stood strong in net for the LumberJills keeping the game tied at 0. After a shot from Izzy Haverkampf that missed just wide, Nadia May would have a scoring chance of her own with minutes left that was saved by the Morris goalie as the two teams would remain tied at 0 into halftime. In the second half, it was the LumberJills who were the ones this time creating the offense as Haverkampf, May and Clara Schmeising had quality scoring chances but couldn't find the back of the net. The two teams would continue to battle back and forth with both goaltenders making numerous saves as time winded down. Haverkampf would have a shot blocked with just seconds remaining but it wouldn't go through as the two teams would play to a 0-0 draw. 

Lough made 14 saves in net today for the LumberJills. 

Morris out shot the Jills, 29-14 in today's tie. 

The Jills will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Crown College tomorrow (10/1). Game time is set to start at 2pm.
