Jills and Crown College Play to a Draw

ST. BONIFACIOUS, Minn.--- The Northland College Women's Soccer team traveled to St. Bonifacious, MN this afternoon for a UMAC conference game against Crown College. After 90 minutes of play, the two teams battled to a 0-0 draw.

After a strong defensive performance against MN Morris yesterday in a 0-0 tie, it was much of the same today for the LumberJills as Crown was able to generate some scoring chances early in the first half but Elysabeth Lough and company were able to stand strong and keep the game tied 0-0 after the first half. In the second half, the Jills were able to flip the scrip and started to generate some things offensively as Clara Schmeising had back to back scoring chances with shots on net. With time winding down and the score still tied, Izzy Haverkampf cut through the defense of Crown and fired a shot that slammed off the cross bar to just miss as either team was able to find the go-ahead goal to finish in a 0-0 tie. 

Lough made 5 saves in net today as she picked up here second shutout in as many games. 

The Jills are back in action this Wednesday (October 5th) as they host North Central MN at Ponzio Stadium. Game time is set for 2pm.
