The Northland College Women's Soccer team returned home on Wednesday night for a conference match against the visiting Rams of North Central University. The LumberJills held the Rams scoreless in a 3-0 victory to add three more points to the UMAC standings. The victory marked the first conference win of the season for the Jills, and their third straight point-scoring result in a row after tying two matches over the weekend.

The two teams played to a 0-0 draw in the first half, despite the LumberJills outshooting their opponent 11-0. Seven of the Jill's shots were on net for the Rams' keeper Abigail Herbolsheimer to make saves. The second half marked an even more relentless attack for Northland. The LumberJills fired 21 shots in the second half, 13 of which were on goal. Northland broke the scoreless game, and their six half scoring drought dating back to the Martin Luther match's first half, in the fourth minute of the second half. Izzy Haverkampf beat the keeper on a low shot to the right for her second goal of the season. Both Clara Schmiesing and Nadia May earned assists on the play. Almost seventeen minutes later, it was Schmiesing who found the back of the net off the post for an unassisted goal. Roughly ten minutes later Haverkampf and Schmiesing teamed up again. Schmiesing dribbled the ball into the box and sent a pass just in front of the keeper, where Haverkampf sent the shot into the empty net for her second goal of the game. Elysabeth Lough earned the easy shutout win in net without facing a single shot on goal. The reigning UMAC defensive player of the week recorded her third shutout in a row.

Northland College (2-6-2, 1-3-2 UMAC) return to the pitch on Saturday for a match against the University of Northwestern. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Ponzio Stadium.
