Box Score

The Jacks, who took control early today, had quality scoring chances from Jonah Evans and Diego Castaneda as they score remained tied. Midway through the first, physicality began to pick up between the two teams and the Jacks would once again have scoring chances from Nick Diaz, Gabriel Casco, Izaak Clarke and Carlos Ponce but were unable to put anything home as the score remained tied at halftime.

In the second, the Jacks continued to pepper the Morris goalkeeper and were finally rewarded at the 66' mark of the second half as Quinn Beiber scored his first NCAA goal to give the Jacks the 1-0 lead. He was assisted by Izaak Clarke and Gabriel Casco. The Jacks defense stood strong for the final Morris attack to come away with the 1-0 road victory.

Jamie Colvill, who got the nod in net today for the Jacks, finished with 4 saves in today's shutout win.

The Jacks out-shot the Cougars 22-12.

"Always good to get conference wins" commented Head Coach, Greg Gilmore. "We moved the ball decently today and we've been stronger and stronger in possession, which is a good thing. We have a quick turn around and need to find a way to get three more tomorrow against a tough Crown team".

The Jacks are back in action tomorrow (10/1) against Crown College. Game time is set for 4:30pm.

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
