Jacks Rally Late in Win Against Crown College

ST. BONIFACIOUS, Minn.--- The Northland College Men's Soccer team traveled to St. Bonifacious, MN today for a UMAC conference game against Crown College. The Jacks were able to rally late as Quinn Bieber scored with 6 minutes left in today's game to secure the 2-1 victory over Crown.

Going up against a much improved Crown College team it was the home team Crown taking the early 1-0 lead, scoring just 4 minutes into today's game to go up 1-0. After settling down, the Jacks were able to rattle off four consecutive shots on net and were finally rewarded as Thomas Carey tied things up 1-1 with a goal. He was assisted by Carlos Ponce. The two teams went into the half tied 1-1. 

In the second, Crown was able to generate some quality scoring chances but goalkeeper Jamie Colvill and company were able to stand strong in net to keep the game tied 1-1. With time winding down and it starting to look like the two teams were going to play to a draw, Quinn Bieber ignited the Jacks with a goal to give the Jacks the 2-1 lead with just 6 minutes remaining. He was assisted by Alejandro Chavez. The Jacks were able to keep the Crown offense in check as time ticked away to come away with the 2-1 victory. 

The Jacks out-shot Crown 12-11 in today's game. 

Colvill made 3 saves in net today for the Jacks. 

With today's win, the Jacks move to 4th place in the UMAC with a 3-1-1 record. 

The Jacks will host North Central MN on Wednesday (October 5th). Game time is set for 4:30pm at Ponzio Stadium.
