The Northland College Men's Soccer team earned a 0-0 draw at Finlandia on Thursday night.

Northland College's Men's Soccer team was back on the road on Thursday night for a match at Finlandia University in Hancock, Michigan. The two teams battled for much of the night, not just with each other, but with the elements as well. A steady rain throughout the game made for some unfavorable conditions as the Jacks and Lions fought to breakt through with the game winning goal. 

The LumberJacks got off to a hot start, firing 4 shots on goal and outshooting the Lions 6-5 in the first half. Junior La Wah fired two shots on goal, the first off a Nick Diaz corner kick, within a seventy second window in the 22nd minute. Jonah Evans attempted to put the rebound in the net on the second shot from Wah, but found the post. Roughly seven minutes later, Kelan Cattaway put a shot on goal that was also saved by the Lions' Jeremiah Amador. In total, he made 4 saves in the half and survived some heavy pressure from the Jacks. All five of the Lions shots were off target in the half, but the game remained scoreless at the intermission.

The second half was much of the same. Wah, who finished the night with three shots on goal, had another shot saved by Amador less than two minutes into the half. Both teams were able to increase the amount of shots down the stretch, with the Lions outshooting the Jacks 11-10 in the second half. Again, however, the strong defense of Northland didn't allow many shooting lanes and the Lions only mustered two shots on goal in total. Jamie Colvill, starting in net for the Jacks, recorded two total saves in the match in quick succession in the 85th minute.

Northland (0-4-1, 0-0 UMAC) will open conference play on Saturday at home against UW-Superior. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 PM kickoff at Ponzio Stadium.
