Jacks Earn Hard Fought Tie Against UNW

Results

After an even first couple of minutes to start this tonight's game it was the visitors UNW who struck first after a foul inside the Northland box resulted in a penalty kick and goal to put the Eagles up 1-0 just ten minutes into this evenings game. The Jacks countered with an attack of their own but were unable to find the equalizer as UNW took the lead into the half 1-0. The Jacks were ignited by Diego Castaneda with a blast from outside the box to tie tonight's game just 4 minutes into the second half. As things progressed, Northland found themselves in a hole as a Northland player was awarded his second yellow card of the game and the Jacks had to play the rest of the match down a player. This certainly did not slow down the Jacks attack as Jonah Evans and Julian Swenson each had multiple chances to score but were denied. The Jacks defense stood strong to hang on to the 1-1 tie.

The Jacks and UNW each had 12 shots in tonight's game.

Jamie Colvill, who played very strong today for the Jacks, finished with 4 saves.

The Jacks continue UMAC conference play on Tuesday as they travel to UW-Superior. Game time is set for 7pm.
