Northland Men's Soccer concluded the regular season at home on Saturday evening with a 3-0 shutout of Minnesota - Morris.

Northland College Men's Soccer completed an excellent regular season on Saturday at home when they hosted Morris. Having already clinched a postseason berth the Jacks were able to secure the three seed in the UMACÂ tournament for the second straight season. The shutout marked the fifth time this season the Jacks have held their opponent scoreless.
Using a different starting lineup than normal, Northland was able to control the game early when Diego Casco scored in the game's 25th minute on a cross from
Carlos Ponce. The Northland attack was able to outshoot the Cougars 8-4 in the half. Freshman Tjaden Whisenhunt made his second career start in net and tallied three saves in the half. Kellen Richardson picked up his first career goal on a free kick just outside the box as time was winding down in the first half to give Northland the 2-0 advantage at the intermission.
The second half saw Northland get a few more players get some game action as the regulars were rested. Freshman Aidan Moore got in to his first collegiate game in net. He was not tested with a shot on goal as the Northland defense held the Cougars to just three shots in the half. None of the shots were on frame. Nolan Melek extended the lead for the Jacks with his first collegiate goal in the 82nd minute.
The LumberJacks will next play in the UMAC Semifinals on Wednesday. As the three seed they will travel to Bethany Lutheran College, who finished the season in second. Kickoff time is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
