St. Cloud, MN – The Northland College Lumberjacks dropped a 5-2 non-conference game to the Saint Johns University Johnnies on Monday evening.  The Jacks are now 3-12-3 on the year while the Johnnies improved to 10-5-2.

The Johnnies jumped out to a 2-0 lead early on but goals from Ben Varga and Parker Severson evened the game at 2-2.  The Johnnies restored their two goal lead with two goals late in the second period to take a 4-2 advantage into the third period, with the second goal coming on the powerplay with only seconds remaining in the period.

The Johnnies added one more in the third period to secure the win.

Taylor Unruh made 31 saves in net for the Jacks.

The Jacks are in action next on Thursday when they host UW-River Falls at 7:00 PM.
