St. Bonifacious, Minn.-- The Northland College Baseball team was back in action on Saturday with a double-header vs. Crown College. The Jacks fell by final scores of 19-6 and 12-2.
Game 1
In game one,
Seth Hackbarth would get the start on the mound for the Jacks. After giving up runs in the first and second inning,
Rian Arreazola would get the Jacks on the board with a an rbi single, scoring
Joel Eason. Later in the inning,
Zach Ross would have an rbi hit to score Arreazola, making it 7-2 for Crown.
Noah Cross continued his strong start of the season at the plate in the 5th inning, crushing a 3rbi home run to make it a 10-6 game but it wouldn't be enough as Crown was able to score runs in the 6th inning to go on to take game one, 19-6.
Rian Arreazola led all LumberJack hitters in game one going 3-3 at the plate.
Game 2
In game two,
Adrian Bethel would get the start on the mound for the Jacks.
Shawn O'Connell would get the Jacks on the board first, hammering a double, scoring
Keaton Arreazola to make it 1-0 for the Jacks. Arreazola in the 4th inning was able to get another run on the board for the Jacks wih a sac fly hit, scoring
Garrett Warren but Crown used runs in the 5th, 7th and 8th innings to go on to take game two, 12-2.
The Jacks will continue UMAC play this Tuesday (April 20th) as they travel to Duluth, MN for a double-header vs. St. Scholastica. First pitch in game one is scheduled to start at 1:30pm.
