Ashland, WI – The Northland College Lumberjacks picked up their third win in as many games on Monday afternoon with a 4-1 win over the Finlandia University Lions.  The Jacks are now 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the UMAC.

Early in the first half Izaak D. Clarke got the scoring started when he beat two Lions defenders before a third hauled him down in the penalty area.  Lee Dennis converted from the spot for the Jacks to give them the early 1-0 lead. 

The Lions fought back with a goal midway through the half to level the game at 1-1. 

Carlos Ponce gave the Jacks the lead in the second half when he finished off a rebound in front of the Lions net.  Diego Castaneda added a goal in the 80^th minute with a brilliant individual effort, and Thomas Carey closed out the scoring in the 90^th minute when he headed a ball home that was delivered from Nick Diaz.

Jamie Colvill got the win in net and made two saves on the evening.

The Jacks travel to Minneapolis next to take on North Central University and Northwestern.  The Jacks first take on North Central on Friday before turning their attention to Northwestern on Saturday.
