Rutland, VT - The Lumberjills took on the Roos of SUNY Canton in the Castleton Invitational Championship on Sunday at the Spartan Arena.  The Jills would ultimately fall by a score of 2-0 in what was a tight game all around. 

In the 1st period, the Roos were able to strike first early on in the period.  The rest of the period presented opportunities for both teams; however, neither were able to take advantage.  The 2nd period was a hard fought battle between both sides.  Gabby Suhr would come up big with 14 saves in the period, which kept the Jills within striking distance going into the 3rd period. The 3rd period got off to a hot start for the Roos as they doubled their lead early on.  The Lumberjills showed a lot of heart and grit to finish out the game, however, they were unable to get one on the board.  The game would finish 2-0 in favor of SUNY Canton.

The Jills next match will be on the road at Aurora University on Saturday, January 11th at 7PM in the first of two games that weekend. Go Jills!
