Ashland, WI – The Northland College Lumberjacks dropped a 4-0 decision to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons on Saturday evening.  With the win, the Falcons improve to 7-4-2 and 3-3-1 in the WIAC while the Jacks drop to 3-10 overall and 1-7 in the WIAC.  The Falcons are currently receiving votes in the national rankings.

The Falcons led 1-0 after the first period on a goal from Ryan Cusin.  Peter Karavos and Josh Arnold set up the goal at the 9:27 mark of the period.

The Falcons opened the game up in the second period with two quick goals midway through the period.  Cayden Cahill found the back of the net at the 7:43 mark and Joel Frazee added another less than two minutes later to make the score 3-0.  The Jacks had a couple of chances to cut into the lead but the Falcons kept them off the scoreboard to take a 3-0 lead into the third period.

The Falcons added a fourth goal late in the third period and goaltender Zach Quinn was able to keep the Jacks off the scoreboard and preserve the shutout.  Gennaro Anzevino made 26 saves in net for the Jacks.  Zachary Ruely and Kyle Pouncy each fired four shots on goal for the Jacks.

Northland is back in action on Tuesday when they Travel to Finlandia University for a 7:00pm non-conference contest.
