The Northland College Baseball team traveled to Mankato, MN this afternoon for a UMAC doubleheader vs. Bethany Lutheran in this week's UMAC Games of the Week. The Jacks would fall in both games by scores of 25-0 and 11-5.
In game one, the two teams would keep things close until the third inning as Bethany would explode offensively at the plate for ten runs. Bethany maintained the attack and kept the Jacks hitters in check and would go on to take game one 25-0.
Noah Cross would have the lone hit for the Jacks.
In game two, Bethany would open the scoring in the first and third innings for the early 2-0 lead.
Noah Cross would hit an rbi single in the third inning, scoring
Garrett Warren to make it 2-1. Bethany would however explode for 7 runs in the fourth inning, expanding their lead to 9-1.
Kyle Pouncy would reach on an error in the 5th inning, scoring
Jake Schramm to make it 9-2.
Earl Kraft would later hit an rbi single, scoring Pouncy to make it 9-3.
Alex Carey later hit an rbi single, scoring Kraft to make the game 9-4. Bethany would add two more runs in the 5th inning, widening their lead to 11-4.
Jake Schramm would hit a Sac fly, scoring Joe Veit in the 8th inning but Bethany would go on to take game two 11-5.
The Jacks will continue UMAC play on Monday (April 22nd) as they travel to Crown College for a doubleheader. Game one is set for 1:30pm.
