River Falls, WI – The Northland College Lumberjacks lost a back and forth game to the University of Wisconsin – River Falls Falcons on Saturday evening. The Jacks held a lead entering the third period but ultimately lost 4-3. The Jacks are now 2-4 on the year and 0-2 in the WIAC.
Kalib Ford scored two goals in the second period to give the Jacks a 2-1 lead. The Falcons responded with two goals to start the third before the Jacks
Bailey Shaver tied the game at 3-3 on a goal from
Kyle Pouncy and
Tristan Petrie.
The Falcons pulled ahead with 7:40 left in the game on a goal from Joel Frazee. The Jacks created several chances to try to even the score, but the Falcons turned aside 13 shots over the final seven minutes to hang on to the 4-3 lead.
The Jacks are in action next on Friday when they return to Ashland for their first home game of the season. The puck is set to drop at 7:00pm against Finlandia University.
