Jacks Can't Catch Blue Devils

Ashland, WI –
 
The Jacks hosted non-conference opponent the University of Wisconsin-Stout Blue Devils tonight at the Bay Area Civic Center.
 
Both teams came out of the gate ready to go to start the game as they raced up and down the ice, battling for possession of the puck. UW-Stout would breakthrough first with 2:50 elapsed in the period. However, it wouldn't take the Jacks long to tie it up, as Max Glashauser would rip a shot into the back of the net. He was assisted by Cole Woodliffe and Kalib (Gus) Ford on the play. However, the Blue Devils would add another goal before the end of the period. The Jacks would create more scoring opportunities, but weren't able to capitalize. They would go into the first intermission down 2-1.
 
The start of the second mirrored the first as both teams would battle for possession of the puck. The Jacks pressured the Blue Devils' defense tallying shots on goal, but weren't able to get any shots to land. The Blue Devils added another goal with 4:35 elapsed in the period to widen their lead over the Jacks by two. The Jacks would go into the third down 3-1.
 
The Blue Devils added to their lead early in the third widening their lead to three. The Jacks would continue to threaten, but wouldn't be able to get on the board. The Blue Devils would be able to score an insurance goal before the end of the period, taking a 5-1 lead over the Jacks. The Jacks fell by a final score of 5-1.
 
Taylor Unruh finished the game with 20 saves.
 
The Jacks will be back on the ice 1/11 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
