Lake Forest, IL -

The Jills traveled to Lake Forest College today for an NCHA conference matchup against the Foresters.

The Foresters got on the board first with a goal a little over 4 minutes into the first period. They would manage to get two more goals before the end of the period. However, the Jills wouldn't waste any time getting to work as Johanna Cano would put it in the back of the net off of an assist from Vivienne Kallio to get the Jills on the board and cut the Foresters' lead down to 2.

The Jills tightened up their defense in the second period, as they tried to chip away at the deficit. However, they wouldn't be able to break through the Forester defense before the end of the period. The Foresters would add an insurance goal before the end of the period and take a 4-1 lead into the third.

The Jills threatened in the third period, but wouldn't be able to capitalize. The Foresters would hold on to win by a final score of 7-1.

Maggie Cusey finished the game with 41 saves.

The Jills will be back in action tomorrow for game 2 of the weekend series against the Foresters. Puck drop is scheduled for 2pm.
