The Jills squared off against Marian University today for the second game of the weekend doubleheader against the NCHA opponent.
The Jills fell behind early in the first period, as the Sabres would jump out to a 1-0 lead a little over 5 minutes into the period. The Sabres would be able to add one more goal before the end of the period, widening their lead to 2. The Jills tallied shots on goal throughout the period, but weren't able to break through. They would go into the second down 2-0.
The Jills continued to record shots on goal in the second, keeping pressure on the Sabres. However, none of the shots would find the back of the net before the end of the period. The Sabres would manage to add another goal with a little over a minute remaining in the period. The Jills went into the third down 3-0.
In the third, the Sabres added an insurance goal a little over three minutes in. However, the Jills would quickly answer. Less than 2 minutes later, Sophomore
Allyson Reilly would rip a shot into the back of the net, cutting the Sabres' lead down to 4-1. Fellow Sophomore
Ally Covert was credited with the assist on the play. However, it wouldn't be enough as the Jills would fall by a final score of 4-1.

Maggie Cusey finished the game with 32 saves.
The Jills will be back in action at home on 2/16 against St. Norbert College. Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm.
