The Jills traveled to Marian University tonight for a conference matchup.
The Sabres attacked the net early in the first period, but the Jills would be able to keep the Sabres off the board. The Jills created opportunities right away, but weren't able to capitalize. A little under 8 minutes into the period, the Sabres would finally break through and go up 1-0. The Jills weren't able to score before the end of the period and went into the second down 1-0.
The Sabres scored first in the second, widening their lead over the Jills to 2-0. The Jills continued to tally shots on goal in the second, but still weren't able to find the back of the net. They would outshoot the Sabres 17-9, but would go into the third down 2-0.
The Sabres widened their lead to 3-0 midway through the third period. However, the Jills would respond. A little under 12 minutes into the period, Sophomore
Kylie Fahmer would rip a shot into the back of the net for a power play goal. She was assisted by Sophomore
Allyson Reilly on the play. The Sabres were able to add another goal before the end of the period. The Jills would fall by a final score of 4-1.
Freshman
Gabby Suhr finished the game with 30 saves for the Jills.
The Jills will be back on the ice tomorrow at Marian University for game two of their NCHA weekend doubleheader. Puck drop is set for 12pm.
