The Jills squared off against UMAC opponent the Crown College Storm tonight.
The Storm scored first to start the half, but the Jills would quickly answer and take a 5-2 lead. The Storm chipped away at the Jills lead, cutting the deficit down to 1. However, the Jills would continue to hit shots and widen their lead to 14-8. The Storm would battle back and take a 19-18 lead over the Jills. The teams would go shot for shot with each other, but the Jills would go into halftime down 28-24.
The Jills started the second half by cutting the Storm lead down to 1. However, the Storm would respond and take a 34-29 lead. A 6-0 run by the Storm would allow them to build their lead to 42-31. The Jills continued to battle throughout the half, but wouldn't be able to catch the Storm before the end of regulation. The Jills would fall by a final score of 60-45.
Sarah Houle led the Jills with 9 points, while Autumn Ninke added 8. Emily Howe led the team with 4 steals.
The Jills will be back in action 2/10 on the road against the College of St. Scholastica. The game is scheduled for a 7:30pm start.
