Ashland, WI -

The Jills hosted the College of St. Scholastica Saints today at the Bay Area Civic Center.

The Jills controlled the match early in the first period, as they would quickly get shots on goal. However, the Saints defense would be able to keep the Jills out of the net. The teams would be evenly matched for the remainder of the period, as they would go into the first intermission tied up at 0-0.

The battle continued in the second period as they would skate up and down the ice fighting for possession of the puck. The Saints would finally break the 0-0 tie with a goal late. The Jills put pressure on the Saints before the end of the period, but weren't able to tie it up.

The Saints struck again early in the third to widen their lead over the Jills to 2-0. They would add an insurance goal before the end of the period, to go up 3-0. The Jills continued to attack the net throughout the period, but couldn't get any shots to land. They fell by a final score of 3-0.

The Jills tallied 27 shots on the day, while Gabby Suhr recorded 32 saves. Allyson Reilly and Samantha Scott led the Jills with 4 shots each.

The Jills will be on the road tomorrow (11/10) in Duluth, MN where they will play their second NCHA game of the weekend against the Saints.
