Jacks Win OT Thriller

Ashland, WI -

The Jacks hosted non-conference opponent the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons today for their second game of the weekend at the Bay Area Civic Center.

The teams came out evenly matched in the first period as they would skate up and down the ice fighting for possession of the puck. Both teams would create scoring opportunities throughout the period, but weren't able to get a lead. They would go into the first intermission tied up at 0-0.

The Falcons jumped on the board less than a minute into the second period, breaking the scoreless tie. The Jacks wouldn't wait long to answer as Kalib (Gus) Ford ripped a shot between the pipes, tying the game up at 1-1 He was assisted by Kurt Sonne and Josh Racek on the play. They would go into the second intermission tied up at 1-1.

The teams would both be strong defensively in the third. However, The Falcons would take a 2-1 lead with 12:21 elapsed in the period. The Jacks would need to scramble as the clock winded down. With less than a minute remaining in the game Max Glashauser would put it into the back of the net and send the game into overtime. He was assisted by Lucas DeBenedet and Kyle Pouncy on the play.

It wouldn't take the Jacks long in overtime as Cole Woodliffe would put it between the pipes, giving the Jacks the win. Lucas DeBenedet and Kyle Pouncy were credited with assists on the goal.

David Krejcik finished the night with 27 saves. The Jacks out shot the Falcons 32-29 in the game.

The Jacks will be back in action 11/24 on the road at UW-Superior. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.
