The LumberJills traveled to the University of Northwestern (MN) tonight for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup against the Eagles.
The Eagles got on the board to start the game, but the Jills quickly tied it up. The Eagles began to build a lead over the LumberJills, but the Jills were able to trade shots with the eagles and keep them within reach. However, the Eagles' offense would be able to pull away from the Jills and take a 33-16 lead into halftime.
The LumberJills offense began to heat up in the second, as they battled throughout the second half and chipped away at the Eagles' lead. With just under eight minutes remaining in the game, the Jills would get the Eagles lead down to 12. However, the Eagles would be able to hold on. The Jills would lose by a final score of 62-46.
Katherine Taylor and Sarah Houle led the Jills with 10 points each, while Autumn Ninke recorded 9. Taylor also led with 3 steals, while Ellyn Braunreiter finished the game with 3 assists.
The Jills will play again on 1/6 at home against UMAC opponent Crown College. Tip-off is set for 5pm.
