The Jills squared off against the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars today on the road.
The Jills quickly jumped out to an early lead to start the first half. However, the Cougars answered and eventually took the 7-6 lead. The Jills kept pace with the Cougars, but an 8-0 run would allow them to widen their lead. The Jills would continue to battle throughout the half, but wouldn't be able to catch up to the Cougars before the end of the half. The Jills would go into halftime down 43-30.
Another 6-0 run by the Cougars to start the second half, would leave the Jills with ground to make up. The Jills capitalized on their opportunities throughout the second half and fought their way back into the game, but it wouldn't be enough as the Cougars were able to hit key shots throughout the half. The Jills fell by a final score of 76-52.
Katherine Taylor led the Jills with 10 points, while Mckayla Waggoner finished with 9.
The Jills will be back in action at home on 1/17 against the College of St. Scholastica. Tip off will begin at 7:30pm.
