Lake Forest Tops LumberJill Hockey Team

The Northland College Women's Hockey team faced off against another future NCHA opponent, Lake Forest College on Saturday afternoon.

The LumberJills got a slow start and Lake Forest capitalized on a power play in the 1st period to bring the score to 2-0 after one. Despite a rebound goal from Robyn Matula the Jills couldn't string together much offense and the Foresters were able to capitalize on two more power plays to bring the game out of reach. The Foresters would come out on top 5-1 at the end of the game. Goaltender, Chloe Marshall had 45 saves.

Head Coach, Kelly Rider, said, "Unfortunately we didn't start the game we had wanted to and then the three power play goals made it difficult to get or sustain any momentum. But, I think our team learned a lot about themselves on and off the ice today and we are looking forward to playing the same team again tomorrow to really measure where we are at this point in our season."

The Jills and Foresters play again at 2pm tomorrow. Northland is then off for the Thanksgiving break before returning to play UW-Stevens Point on December 3rd.
