The Northland College LumberJills traveled to St. Norbert College for a Tuesday night match up.
The Jills survived the first period just allowing one goal against their future NCHA opponent, the Green Knights. The Jills came out strong in the second and were able to hold St. Norbert to 1-0 through 40 mins. Midway through the third the Green Knights broke through to make it 2-0. They added another at 13:46 and their last goal at 19:17, to bring the final score to 4-0.
Chloe Marshall had a strong night in net, making 44 saves.
Head Coach,
Kelly Rider, said "Despite some adversity going into the game, I was happy with our overall effort and buy into team play. I felt our goaltender gave us the chance to get back in the game and potentially win. To hold an NCHA opponent to 1-0 through two and a half periods on the road is very promising, but we still need to work on playing a full 60 minutes."
The Jills travel next to another future NCHA opponent, Lake Forest, for a pair of games this weekend.
