ASHLAND, Wis. - Northland College (17-22, 13-8 UMAC) was able to clinch the No. 2 seed for the UMAC Tournament against Martin Luther after a 24-1 victory, but fell in game two of the doubleheader 9-4.
Northland scored multiple runs in the first five innings of the opener game as they were able to cruise to a 24-1 win. The Jacks had a plethra of hitters do well led by senior first baseman Dan Kollauf who finished the game hitting for the cycle going 5-5 with three runs with nine runs batted in. Junior outfielder Mitch Howard had a good day at the plate going 4-4 with five runs scored and four runs batted in. Senior shortstop
Matt Lennon finished the game 3-3 with two walks and four runs scored with three runs batted in. Freshman designated hitter Will Serviss had a pair of doubles going 3-5 with a run and an RBI.

Logan Schuman (6-4) picked up the win on the mound going five innings allowing only four hits and one run.
The second game was a much closer contest as Martin Luther was able to jump out to an early 3-0 lead.
Freshman
Alex Elliott hit a one out single in the bottom of the second and eventually came around to score off a single from freshman catcher
Alex Loberger.
Northland cut the deficit to 4-2 in the third after a Howard triple was followed by a wild pitch to bring him in.
The Knights were able to extend the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs, and were able to break the game open with four runs in the eighth. Senior center fielder
Jacob Hodgdon and Serviss each had RBI hits late in the game but it wasn't enough as Martin Luther took game two 9-4.
Freshman pitcher
Dylan Porter was solid on the mound going 7.1 only allowing three earned runs with four strikeouts.
The Jacks will play at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7 to open the UMAC Tournament with a team to be determined later.
Northland will finish the regular season at home against Carleton Monday, May 4 for Senior Day.
