Following a tough conference doubleheader with St. Scholastica, the Jacks had no time to recover playing the next day in a non-conference battle with current WIAC member University of Wisconsin-Superior. In what will be their final meeting as non-conference foes before UW-Superior joins the UMAC Conference next season, the Jacks hosted the Yellowjackets at LumberJack Field. As finals week set in academically on the Jacks, it began to take a toll on them on the playing field as well. The Jacks who were without many members of the team because of finals testing had to find a way to rally together and get a much needed non-conference victory. Unfortunately for the Jacks, the Yellowjackets came in red hot with the bats and didn't slow down throughout the 9 inning contest. On a day that the Jacks seemed to struggle at the plate, the Yellowjackets were able to find all of the holes and en route to 18 hits and 23 runs. It wasn't all gloom for the Jacks however, as Senior First Baseman Daniel Kollauf (Ashland, Wis.) got the Jacks on the board in the 7th inning with a towering 3-run homerun to right center field. At the end of the day, it was the Yellowjackets who were on the winning end of a 23-3 contest. For the Jacks offensively, Kollauf was the only player to garner multiple hits while a handful of Jacks collected one hit on the day. Another bright spot on the day for the Jacks was the pitching performance of Freshman Pitcher Carlos Martinez (Miami, Fl.) who scattered 5 hits and only allowed 2 earned runs in 5 innings of work on the mound.

The jacks are at it again on Friday as they travel to Mankato, Minnesota for a conference battle with Bethany Lutheran College.
