In a matchup with the UMAC leading St. Scholastica Saints, the Jacks looked poised to prove their worth in the conference and send a message with a doubleheader sweep against the conference leaders. Unfortunately for the Jacks, they were not able to hold late leads in both contests and fell to the Saints. On a rescheduled Tuesday doubleheader, the Jacks sent Senior Pitcher
Logan Schuman (Wild Rose, Wis.) to the mound looking to earn the victory. Strom looked strong early as he held the Saints to just 2 runs, 1 earned through 5 innings. In the bottom of the 5th the Jacks were able to get the bottom of the lineup on base for the top to hit back to back to back RBI singles to give the Jacks a 3-2 lead going into the 6th inning. Unfortunately for the Jacks, the Saints were able to put together some hits on top ofo a couple LumberJack errors to score 5 runs and take a commanding 7-3 lead. It wasn't until the bottom of the 9th inning before the Jacks would score again plating one and finishing the game on the wrong end of an 11-4 final. The Jacks were led by Freshman Outfielder
Jakob Freele (Smartville, CA.) and Senior Outfielder
Jacob Hodgdon (Winnebago, Ill.).
In the second game of the doubleheader, it was much of the same story. The Jacks were able to score first in this contest and took a 3-0 lead again going into the 6th inning before the Saints began the battle back. The Saints were able to tie the score in the 6th and then took the lead that they would not surrender in the 7th inning. This game was a bit of a coming out party for Freshman Pitcher
Damion Freeman (Sacramento, CA.) who was able to hold the Saints scoreless through 5 innings, but it was timely 2-out hitting by the Saints that allowed them to battle back and ultimately take the contest with a final of 8-3. The Jacks were led offensively by Senior First Baseman
Daniel Kollauf (Ashland, Wis.), Freshman Third Baseman
Alex Elliott (Middleton, Wis.), and Freshman Outfielder Will Serviss (Rocky Point, NY.) all collecting two hits respectively.
