Blaine, Minn.- The Northland College LumberJills snapped their three game losing streak with a win over North Central College. The Jills won 2-0, with goals from defender Mikayla Jaeckel (Fort Atkinson, Wisc) in the first half, and forward Alexandra Ritchie (Waldo, Wisc.) in the second. The women relentlessly pounded the North Central defense with attacks from Madeleine Wieland (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) and Heather Jensen (Anoka, Minn).
The Northland women also had a very strong defensive game. The defense limited their opponents to two corner kicks. Madison Erie (Red Wing, Minn.) controlled the center of the field, while Kayla Damiano (Lakeville, Minn.) controlled the outside. The LumberJills return home to face Crown at 2pm on September 26th.
