Luke Howard named Northland College Head Athletic Trainer

ASHLAND, Wis. – Northland College names Luke Howard as the new Head Athletic Trainer announced on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Howard has worked in the athletic training and medical field for the last 25 years. Most recently he was a high school athletic trainer in the Eau Claire area and worked in the MAYO clinic in the area. Howard has spent four years as a collegiate athletic trainer at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, starting in 2018.

"I am looking forward to the new challenge," said Howard. "I will bring a well-rounded experience of biomechanics and apply skills that will help prevent injuries and allow our athletes to excel in their sports while providing them the leadership they need when they are recovering from their injuries."

Howard graduated from Eastern Michigan University and earned his master's in Athletic Training from Indiana State University.

Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
