JACKSONVILLE, IL -  The Lumberjills showed an attacking attitude with a 3-0 victory over MacMurray College on Sunday.  Junior Alexandra Ritchie (Waldo, Wisc.) netted the game winning goal in the first half to give the Lumberjills momentum going into halftime.  Ritchie followed her late first half goal with an early second half assurance goal.  Coach Jessica Griggs was "impressed with the teams ability to adjust at halftime and put their opponents on the back foot."
 
The Jills came out strong and continued a positive game plan of relentless attack.  Senior Natalie Absil (Grays Lake, Ill.) showed individual brilliance to get behind the line of defense and score her second goal of the season.  Freshman goalkeeper Emily Romuald (Fon Du Lac, Wisc.) was asked to stay focused and make impactful saves in key moments.  Romuald begins her career with two shut-outs.
 
The Lumberjills travel to Iowa Wesleyan for a 1:00 game on Friday.
