JACKSONVILLE, IL - The women's soccer team started their season on a high note with a 5-0 win over Eureka College. The Jills are focused on competing in everything they do this season, and today was certainly a showcase of this motto. "I was most impressed with the teams execution of the plans that we had in place and the focus to stick to the plan," coach Jessie Griggs stated after the game. Griggs was also impressed with "...the ability to posses the ball."

The Northland women possessed the ball for the majority of the game, attacking relentlessly. Alexandra Ritchie started the scoring in the 14th minute of the game. The goals continued soon after with freshman Laura Rethmann's header goal, assisted by Charlotte Edminster's corner kick. Maddie Wieland created two goals of her own, and senior Natalie Absil rounded out the scoring. The Jills are back in the action tonight at 3pm versus host MacMurray College.
