Seamus Gregory was hired as the Head Coach of LumberJack Hockey in June of 2014, he is the fourth Head Coach in school history.
Prior to Northland, Gregory spent three seasons (2011-2014) at Williston State College in northwest North Dakota, where he was the architect of Teton Hockey. In a short three years, Gregory helped Williston State build their program that is now a hockey power in the NJCAA. During his tenure at Williston, Gregory led the program to a record of 44-36-4 with three Region XIII titles , twelve All-Americans, three NJCAA Frozen Fours and two National Championships (2013, 2014). The two titles are the first National Championships in school history.
This is a return to the NCAA and NCHA for Gregory who spent two years (2008-2010) as the first assistant/recruiting coordinator at Lake Forest College under legendary mid-west Division III Hockey Coach Tony Fritz. Gregory also spent one year as the interim Head Coach (2010-2011) at Lake Forest upon Fritz's retirement from the game in July of 2010.
Aside from his passion for collegiate hockey, Gregory has also taken a vested interest in growing and promoting the game at the youth level. He is actively involved with Ashland, WI Youth Hockey and in his spare time works hockey camps and clinics throughout the United States.
Athletic Director Kim Falkenhagen commented on Gregory taking the reins of LumberJack Hockey, "Seamus will be a great addition to our department, he is an outgoing, determined and passionate coach that will bring a positive influence to the program."
