ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team scored a season-high 64 points but fell 105-64 to Bethany Lutheran College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis. Junior
Hannah Peel scored a season-high 23 points.

The first three shots of the game were all made, giving BLC a 5-2 edge.
Britta Josephson had the opening basket for the LumberJills. The Vikings began to pull away with a seven-point run. Peel ended the scoring run with her first points on a layup. Northland found success in the paint, shooting over 55 percent. However, the height of BLC played a significant role, as the Vikings finished the first half shooting 71.4 percent to lead 37-16.

A majority of Northland's points in the second half came at the free-throw line. Peel shot 6-of-6 in the second quarter and was 8-of-8 at the line in the first half.
Leah Allan scored the first field goal of the second quarter for the Jills with a layup.
Kodie Rempp connected on a two-point jumper for her first points of the game.
Hanna Hoskin scored the final NC basket of the half with a layup.

Northland started the second half quietly until Josephson found Peel for two points. Peel added another two points with a driving layup, and Allan followed suit on the next possession, hitting a free throw for a three-point play. Allan sparked a seven-point Northland run, capped off by Josephson with a layup after a steal. Hoskin hit the team's first three-pointer of the game on the next trip down. Peel ended the scoring with two more made free throws, finishing 10-for-10 at the line thus far.

Josephson converted a free throw to start the scoring in the final quarter. Peel followed with more successful free-throw attempts. After a brief scoring drought from both teams, Rempp hit her first triple of the game to bring the scoring back to life. Rempp then worked her way into the paint for two more points. Josephson scored the next six points of the game with four free throws and a layup. Peel finished the scoring with another made free throw.

Peel finished with a season-high 23 points, including going 15-of-16 at the free-throw line. Josephson also scored a career-high 16 points. Allan reached double figures with 11, while Hoskin and Rempp both had seven. Defensively, Rempp led the team with six rebounds, with Hoskin following behind with four. Allan had the team's sole block.

Northland hosts the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m., for its next game.
