ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team was defeated 38-76 by the University of Wisconsin-Superior in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night in Ashland, Wis.

Britta Josephson scored the opening basket of the game on Northland's first shot. She would net another to tie the game at four. The Yellowjackets then hit back-to-back three-pointers to begin pulling away. A free throw by Josephson halted the rally, but UWS scored 17 unanswered points to build a sizable lead.
Leah Allan got on the scoreboard with a free throw, and
Hanna Hoskin followed with the team's first three-pointer.

Hoskin opened the scoring in the second quarter with a two-point jumper. The LumberJills then went cold. Allan would score the remaining points of the quarter with a jumper and a free throw.

Josephson converted another shot for NC with
Lily Zapp providing the assist coming out of halftime. Late in the third quarter, Northland began to find success offensively. Allan scored a layup, and on the following trip down the court, she connected from behind the arc.
Kodie Rempp made her first shot of the game in the final minute with a jumper.

Northland had its best quarter in the fourth, holding UWS to only 12 points. Rempp built off her earlier make and opened the scoring in the quarter with a three-pointer. Allan followed it up by going 1-of-2 at the free-throw line. Hoskin added two points with two made free throws. Josephson grabbed an offensive rebound and put it back for two points. Hoskin closed out the scoring for the game with another three-pointer.

Coming off the bench, Allan led the team in scoring with 13 points. Hoskin and Josephson reached double figures with 10 points each, while Rempp added five. Defensively, Josephson was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine rebounds.
Hannah Peel finished the game with five steals, and Hoskin had two blocks.

Northland returns to action on Saturday with a 4:45 p.m. start time at Crown College.
