NEW ULM, Minn. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team was defeated 74-36 by Martin Luther College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon in New Ulm, Minn. Sophomore
Britta Josephson recorded her second career double-double, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Hannah Peel opened the scoring with a layup in the paint, ending a five-point run by MLC.
Leah Allan made an immediate impact off the bench, knocking down a three-pointer to trim the lead to five. Josephson earned a trip to the free-throw line, where she made the first attempt and then grabbed her miss.
Kodie Rempp found Peel for another three-pointer. Josephson then stole a pass and made an open layup, which would be Northland's final points of the quarter. The Jills trailed by nine after the first 10 minutes.

The offense struggled in the second quarter. Josephson continued her strong play, making a basket after a pass from Peel.
Lily Zapp scored her first point of the game at the free-throw line, ending the scoring drought. To close the quarter, Peel went coast to coast, getting a shot off just before the buzzer.

Josephson found success in the third quarter, making her only two shots early in the period. Rempp stole an inbound pass and took it straight to the basket for her first score of the game.
Hanna Hoskin followed with a two-point jumper. In the final minutes, Peel scored five points, starting with a three-point play and followed by two made free throws.

Josephson opened the scoring in the fourth quarter with a three-point play, assisted by Hoskin. Northland struggled to add to its total, remaining at 32 points for much of the quarter. Josephson added another basket in the paint for the team's next points. Peel finished the game with two made free throws.

Peel and Josephson led the team in scoring with 14 points apiece. Peel had her best shooting night of the season, going 4-for-8 from the floor, 1-for-4 from behind the arc, and a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. Allen added three points, while Rempp and Hoskin each totaled two, and Zapp chipped in one. Josephson recorded her second double-double of the season, also grabbing 11 rebounds, including three on the offensive glass. Rempp matched her career-high with three steals to lead the team. Both Allen and Josephson recorded one block each.

Northland is back in action on Wednesday as they host the University of Northwestern at 7:15 p.m.
