SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team was defeated 33-89 by the University of Wisconsin-Superior in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night in Superior, Wis.

The Yellowjackets took an early lead, but
Britta Josephson ended their rally by scoring the Jills' first points of the game with a two-point jumper. On the following possession,
Hannah Peel went 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. After a scoring drought,
Kodie Rempp got on the board with a jump shot and completed a three-point play at the line.
Leah Allan scored the team's final point of the quarter with a free throw.

After a stretch without scoring in the second quarter,
Hanna Hoskin scored her first bucket with a hook shot. Shortly after, Peel knocked down Northland's first three-pointer, assisted by Hoskin. Josephson capped a five-point run with a jumper assisted by
Madie Linka to end the half.

The third quarter was Northland's lowest-scoring period, tallying just four points from a jumper by Josephson and free throws by Allan and Rempp. The Jills bounced back in the fourth quarter, their highest-scoring period. Rempp started the scoring with another free throw. Late in the quarter, Josephson reached 10 points with a jumper off a pass from Peel. As the quarter ended, Rempp hit another free throw to close out the game.

Josephson led the scoring with 10 points, while Rempp and Peel followed with nine and eight points, respectively. Hoskin scored four, and Allan added two. Rempp and Peel led the team with six rebounds, with Hoskin contributing four. Hoskin also had the team's only block.
Lily Zapp made her debut late in the game.

Northland's next game is on Saturday at Bethany Lutheran College, with a 2:45 p.m. tip-off.
