ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Women's Basketball team was defeated 82-19 by the University of Minnesota Morris in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis.

Northland's offense struggled throughout the game.
Britta Josephson scored the first LumberJill basket in the paint after a pass from
Hannah Peel, and
Leah Allan followed with the team's first three-pointer in the opening quarter.

After a stretch without a field goal, Allan made one of two free throws. Northland ended the second quarter with two more baskets, one from
Saleen Thepmontry and the other from Josephson. The Jills held the Cougars scoreless for the final five minutes of the quarter.

However, Minnesota Morris came out strong in the second half, scoring frequently. Peel made her first basket of the game early in the third quarter with a layup. In the final period, Josephson opened the scoring for the Jills. Peel added a driving layup, and
Kodie Rempp ended the scoring for Northland with a three-pointer.

Josephson led the Jills in scoring with six points. Peel and Allan each added four, while Rempp chipped in three and Thepmontry contributed two. Rempp also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, with Josephson adding seven. Rempp matched her career-high with two blocks.

Northland travels to the University of Wisconsin-Superior on Wednesday with a 7:15 p.m., tip-off.
