DECORAH, Iowa – The Northland College Volleyball team was bested in three sets by Luther College (15-25, 10-25, 14-25) on the final day of the Luther College Tournament in Decorah, Iowa on Saturday afternoon.

Kodie Rempp set up the first point of the match to
Leah Allan to start Northland's last game of the tournament. Points traded early with no team able to pull away at the start.
Britta Josephson scored on a kill to make the score 9-11 in favor of Luther. A 7-to-1 run by the Norse put them in a good position to finish out the set, Josephson had the sole NC point in the rally. The Jills followed the run with three points in a row but it was not enough dropping set one 25-15.

Luther jumped out to a quick 8-1 lead. Kills from Allan and Josephson would break up the scoring but the early deficit was too much to over come falling in set two 10-25.

Northland had the start it wanted in set three scoring the first three points with Josephson connecting on the attacks for two points. Luther though rallied back with seven unanswered. Another kill from Josephson and an attack error by Luther had Northland back within two. The Norse continued to go on large-scoring rallies to pull away from Northland and took the set and match at 25-14.

Josephson set a season-high with 11 kills to lead the Northland offense. Allan finished two behind ending the match with nine. Josephson was hitting just under .300 at .296 and Allan had a .103 hitting percentage resulting in the team's best hitting performance of the early season.
Kennedy Gruhlke also chipped in three kills. Rempp assisted on a season-high 20 kills and Josephson and
Hannah Peel ended the match with one assist. Peel led the defense for the first time this season with eight digs, Josephson was right behind her with seven and Allan rounded out the top three with six.

Northland enters Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play next when they travel to the University of Wisconsin-Superior for a 7 p.m., game on Sept. 24.
