ASHLAND, Wis. – After leading in the opening quarter, the Northland College Lacrosse team fell 10-17 to Edgewood College Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis.

The Jacks struck first, eight minutes in from a goal from
Logan Gallagher. Less than a minute later the Eagles tied things up at one. Goals from
Jackson Breton and another from Gallagher gave Northland a 3-1 lead after the first 15 minutes.

To start the second quarter Edgewood scored four unanswered to take its first lead of the game. The LumberJacks retook the lead after a run of three goals, two from Gallagher and one from
Brodie Trollop. To end the half EC scored three in a row to go up 8-6.

After a 10-goal second quarter, the scoring died down with all four goals coming in the first seven minutes. EC had the first goal of the second half but Northland pulled within one after goals from Gallagher and Trollop. The Eagles would retake their two-goal lead into the final quarter.

To start the final quarter Norhtland and Edgewood traded goals with
Avery Roerick scoring his first of the season. The Eagles pulled ahead ending the game on a 6-to-1 run to win the game 17-10.

This was the Jacks' highest-scoring game with 10. Gallagher scored a career-high five goals in the loss with Trollop also having a multiple-goal game with two. Finding the back of the net as well were Roerick, Breton, and
George Haigley. Trollop led the team with two assists and Gallagher,
Luke Ballard, and
Cody Pfaller tallied one.

Freshman
Rudy Ruegemer made his collegiate debut in net stopping 21 shots. Defensively, Gallagher led the team with six groundballs, Ballard was one behind him with five. Ballard,
Bryson Cecconi, and Max Shaffer all caused one turnover.

The Jacks have their next game on Tuesday as they travel to Beloit College with the game starting at 7 p.m.
