ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northland College Lacrosse team was downed by Carroll University 13-6 in its 2024 season home opener Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Wis.
 
The Pioneers started the scoring early, with a goal in the first 90 seconds by Nick White. White scored a hat trick in the first quarter to put Carroll up 3-0. The lead continued to expand the lead going up 5-0 in the second. Luke Ballard ended the scoring drought for Northland before halftime.
 
Coming out of the half, the LumberJacks found the back of the net three times, but could not make up ground with CU scoring four. For Northland Logan Gallagher scored twice and George Haigley once. In the final quarter, Brodie Trollop scored twice to end the game 13-6 in favor of the Pioneers.
 
Gallagher and Trollop led the team with two points from two goals each. Ballard and Haigley both had one point from a goal. Jackson Breton and Matt Maudsley also recorded a point in the contest with an assist. Gallagher led the team in shots with 10 with Trollop behind with eight.
 
Viktor Wennberg started the game in net and recorded five saves. Tony Donaldson entered the game in the second quarter and had 11 saves.
