LumberJacks fall to Vikings on the road

NEW ULM, Minn. – The Northland College Men's Basketball team was best by Bethany Lutheran College 91-46 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Friday night in New Ulm, Minn.
 
After a basket from BLC, Langston Flowers connected on a three to give Northland an early 3-2 lead. The lead did not last long with the Vikings going on a 10-point run. Jahlani Thornton stopped with run with a jumper and Jordan Brennan followed it up with a triple. The Vikings continued to extend their lead with Northland trying to match to pace but fell short going down 57-32 at the end of the first half.
 
The second quarter went similarly to the first with the Vikings having a strong performance and Northland unable to match the pace.
 
Coming off the bench Damian Cejka led the team with 10 points, going 2-for-3 from behind the arc. Drew Lindberg finished behind him with eight points, six from three-pointers. Brennan and Thornton ended the game with seven points. Brennan led the team with two assists.
 
Defensively, Tyler Tuura led the team with four rebounds. Three LumberJacks finished behind him with three; Lindberg, Thornton, and Jaden Jones. Thornton also had two blocks in the contest.
 
The Jacks end their season tomorrow with a 4:45 p.m., tipoff against Martin Luther College.
 
Northland College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Ashland, WI. The LumberJacks and LumberJills sponsor 14 varsity sports and compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, Midwest Lacrosse Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
